Announcements Archive April 2007 - During the weekend of April
14-15, Carolinas FSC completed another successful test session! There were
84 skaters testing from our home rink and surrounding areas. The overall
pass rate was 85%. Way to go skaters! We would like to thank our
Test Chair, Brenda McConnell, and all the volunteers from CFSC for making this
test session possible. Brenda worked tirelessly to coordinate schedules,
put volunteers in place and process applications as well as obtaining judges
from North Carolina, New York, and one World Level judge from April 2007 - A huge thank you and congratulations to all the volunteers who made our first John Smith Memorial Competition such a success. Special thanks to Linda Bentley and Michele Subbot Sobehart, co-chairs for all of the hard work and effort. March 2007 - For those who do not know, Coach Bob Schwarzwaelder is retiring. His last day teaching will be Friday, March 16. Please be sure to wish Bob good luck if you see him. He has been an extraordinary coach, mentor, colleague and friend. August 2006 - Congratulations to Carolinas FSC skater Mary Jo Adams for passing the Senior Moves in the Field test on August 27!! August 2006 - Congratulations to CFSC coach Ann Harrison for passing her PSA Registered Freeskate exam. May 2006 - Membership renewal forms have been mailed to all current members. U.S. Figure Skating increased their rates substantially this year; therefore, we have slightly increased our rates. Our last rate increase was in 2000. May 2006 - Congratulations to CFSC coach Jenny Gwyn who recently passed the PSA's Senior MIF Rating, Certified MIF Rating, and Certified FS Rating Exams! May 2006 - Congratulations to CFSC coach Amy Wright who made the coaches' honor roll in the June 2006 issue of the PSA's Professional Skater magazine! Amy was recognized for leading Team Carolinas Masters Synchro team to the pewter medal at the 2006 national championships. May 2006 - Congratulations to Kaitlyn Carfagno for passing her Senior Moves test on May 7! April 2006 - Pineville Ice House letter concerning Beat the Heat 2006 is now available. April 2006 - CFSC coach Tappie Dellinger has been recognized by 107.9FM The Link as one of Charlotte's Leading Ladies!
