The Carolinas FSC is thrilled to welcome Evy and Mary Scotvold to the Extreme Ice Center to present a seminar for all levels of skaters on Saturday, November 8, 2008. This is a unique opportunity to learn from their expertise and hear their stories, techniques and skill exercises. The seminar will also feature 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist Paul Wylie, currently a coach here at the Extreme Ice Center. The seminar will include on- and off-ice sessions with skaters grouped by their current skating levels.

Featuring ... Mary and Evy Scotvold

U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame members, Evy and Mary Scotvold, have coached champion skaters to the Olympic Games for the last thirty years, including Nancy Kerrigan, Olympic Silver Medalist and United States Champion, and Paul Wylie, Olympic Silver Medalist.

Famous for the dynamic combination of technical brilliance and artistic passion, this couple has long served among the world's elite figure skating coaches. They were among the earliest faculty for the Professional Skaters Association, sharing their technical and artistic insight with several generations of coaches.

Mary is a former United States Novice Ladies Champion and pupil of the late Gustav Lussi. Evy parlayed early competitive success into a professional career with the Ice Follies. Both have coached skaters and conducted seminars all over the world. Evy and Mary have recently re-located to Jacksonville, FL, from the long-time home on Cape Cod.

We are thrilled to welcome Evy and Mary Scotvold to the Extreme Ice Center with this unique oppurtunity to learn from their expertise and hear their stories, techniques and skill exercises.

Paul Wylie

Paul Wylie is the 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist and a recent inductee into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame. A veteran of 15 National Championships, Three World Championships and Two Olympic Games (1988 & 1992), Paul turned professional in 1992.

Renowned for his expressive style, skating skills and precise technique, Paul won 12 televised professional events, including the World Professional Championship and, three times, the World Challenge of Champions. He participated as a headliner on nine National Tours with Stars on Ice and Champions on Ice. Along with medal-winning performances in Albertville, his signature programs set to music from JFK, Schindler's List and Carmina Burana are still considered some of the classic performances of his era. Paul is a graduate of Harvard University, having earned a BA (1991) and a MBA (2000). He lives in Charlotte with his wife Kate and their three children, Hannah, Emma and Caleb, and is currently in residence as a coach here at the Extreme Ice Center.

Tentative Seminar Schedule

Saturday, November 8, 2008 (subject to change based on enrollment needs)

The skaters will be grouped into levels for the rotations based on their current skating levels for both Freestyle and MIF. At registration they will receive their group assignments for the seminar events. Please fill out enrollment details in their entirety for proper placement.

Private Lessons Available

Mary and Evy Scotvold are available for Private Lessons during their visit. They are available on:

• Saturday Evening, Nov. 8th, 4:00 - 6:45 PM
• Sunday Afternoon, Nov. 9th, 12:45 - 2:00 PM

Each of their private lessons rates are $30.00 per 15 minutes.

Paul Wylie is now available as a full time coach and for Private Lessons at the Extreme Ice Center.
